IEC 50th ANNUAL RALLY

July 25-28, 2018 - Dayton, OH

Host : Ohio Chapter

Everyone participates in a Rally in their own way, so if you enjoyed yourself then the committee suc-ceeded in what we set out to accomplish.

The members that were in the Edselcade to Young’s

Dairy enjoyed great food and ice cream. The cruise to

Wandering Griffin for dinner on Wednesday; lunch at Kristin Swartz receiving her 2nd The Spaghetti Warehouse and our own hospitality party Place trophy for Jr. Division offered time to relax and catch up. As a committee, we

appreciate all who visited Carillon park, the Wright Cycle shop, America’s Packard Museum and of course the National Museum of the US Air Force. OK, maybe we learned way more about the Wright brothers than we will ever need, but these were must see places when you come to Dayton.

The Holiday Inn Dayton / Fairborn turned out to be the perfect spot for our 50th Rally; the location, parking lot, nearby restaurants and staff was great. Dianna Cordele and Kalyn Leeper were very accommodating to our club in so many ways. Yes we did experience a glitch or two, but they were corrected, or adjustments were made to our final bill.

Valve cover racing was brought back and could be on the rebound. A new track was unveiled; this track is lighter and more compact for easier transport/storage. Having the race during our popular Friday night Hospitality Party appeared to be a big hit. We had thirteen competitors in three divisions. Liberty Davis (Hank & Debbie Davis’s granddaughter) took 1st in the Junior division (under 18); Mary Lou Humphrey was 1st in Senior division (over 18); Alan Humph-rey was 1st in the Outlaw division (anything goes). The track will be in Tupelo, so don’t forget to dust off your racer or start building a new one for next year.

Congratulations to everyone that was able to bring their prized Edsels to the Rally. They each received the limited edition commemorative grill medallion. To all that had their Edsel judged, thank you for participating. Our judging sets us apart from the other clubs. There are often ob-stacles that prevent us from bringing our cars to the Rally, but we appreciate that over 50 of you were able to bring them.

Once again thank you all for attending and we hope the excitement and camaraderie that the host committee observed was an indication that (to quote Bruce Dean) “a good time was had by all”.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in Tupelo MS in 2019!

Look for details as they become available!

Our purpose is to bring together those who have an interest in the Edsel, it’s repair and preservation, to create a central source of information about Edsels, owners, units for sale and parts replacement.
